Actress, Uju Mandy, has taken a bold swipe at Burna Boy for not fulfilling his promise to a socialite, Sophia.
Burna Boy and Sophia became a trending topic on social media last week after a voice recording, allegedly of herself and a friend went viral on Instagram.
In the recording, Sophia claimed that Burna Boy stood her up despite an agreement they had – to buy her a Lamborghini. She alleged that the singer had shown interest in her and made several attempts to meet her. Eventually, they met at a club, and their relationship developed from there.
Sophia further disclosed that before having sex with him, the singer had sold her many dreams, saying, “Eventually, I agreed to see him, and after the club, we went home. I was like whatever happens, happens. We had sex and all of that because he had already sold me a lot of dreams. I thought he could be one of my guys. He’s a celebrity, and we know how to code it. I will be doing my own thing, and he will be doing his.”
Sophia claimed that Burna Boy’s promises were empty, as he kept making excuses about the Lamborghini he promised her. She added that even when she was about to pay for her car, he failed to fulfil his commitments. Frustrated, she blocked him on social media on the day she made the payment.
Sharing her opinion on the controversy in an interview with Saturday Beats, the curvy actress described the singer’s action as childish and disgusting. “Criticise Sophia for what? Sinners judging sinners differently! Most of the people criticising her will do worse, and as for the ladies criticising her while accepting Indomie and egg for N2,500, you’d still sleep with them! I don’t have much to say because I wasn’t there when they started their relationship, and I don’t want to speak about what I don’t know.
“Based on what I read online and the leaked voice recording I listened to, what Burna did was actually wrong. Imagine promising her a Lamborghini just to sleep with her. That’s childish and disgusting, especially for someone like him who can get any girl he wants without making promises. Secondly, if he made a promise, he should have fulfilled it”, she lashed out.
Speaking about
what she regrets in her past relationships, she said, “My biggest regret was loving my partner more than he loved me. I’ve learned my lesson now—I never love a guy more than he loves me. The love has to be equal, or he has to love me more.”
