Mulakhil, 23, has previously pleaded guilty to one charge of raping a child under the age of 13, but denies two further counts, as well as other charges. Kabir, 24 denies all charges, including attempted abduction.

Opening the case for the prosecution, Oscroft told the jury: "This case concerns two men who both targeted a 12-year-old girl in Nuneaton in the early evening of Tuesday 22 July 2025, a light summer evening.
