Rapper, Emeka Akumefule, also known as Blaqbonez, shared his experience during a performance at a company’s end-of-the-year party on Tuesday.

In a tweet on his X handle on Wednesday, Blaqbonez stated that while performing to the “very mature audience,” he realised how “vulgar” his lyrics were.

The rapper added that the experience was something he would never forget.

His tweet read, “Yesterday, I performed at a company’s end of the year party, very mature audience, that was when I realised how vulgar my lyrics actually were. Looking mummy & daddy in the eye while saying ‘can’t let these f**king b*tches see no emotion’ is something I’d never forget 😭”

Commenting on his tweet, an X user, DanielRegha, wrote, “Emeka ur lyrics have always been the issue in a majority of your songs; No-one can deny ur talent or unique vocals, but u need to work on your songwriting skills.

“Keep in mind that kids also have access to streaming platforms & often listen to your songs, so your music shouldn’t be inappropriate.”

Another tweep, motivatedpso, commented, “It seems like performing for a mature audience made you realise the impact of your lyrics. It’s a valuable lesson, and now you can work on refining your songs to cater to a wider audience.

“This experience will surely help you grow as an artist and make your performances even more memorable in the future. Keep shining!”
