Western Cape police are on the hunt for gunmen who shot and killed three people in Joe Slovo informal settlement, Milnerton, on Saturday night.
Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut said officers responded to reports of gunfire just after 22:30 on Freedom Way.
“Upon arrival at the scene, members discovered a silver Toyota Avanza riddled with multiple bullet holes. Inside the vehicle were the bodies of two adult females who were declared deceased on the scene.
“A few metres away, the body of a 36-year-old male was also found,” Traut said.
Investigators are working around the clock to piece together what led to the fatal shooting.
According to information provided by a family member, the deceased man was previously involved in the taxi industry, while one of the women who were killed was reportedly his girlfriend.
“At this stage, the motive for the attack remains unknown, and no arrests have been made,” Traut added.

He said the matter has been assigned to the province’s serious and violent crime detectives for further investigation.
Police have appealed to the public for assistance as they intensify their probe into the triple murder.
“We urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information that could assist the investigation to come forward,” said Traut.
