Western Cape police are on the hunt for gunmen who shot four customers, instantly killing one and seriously injuring three others, as they attempted to rob Africa Shop - a local spaza in Zwelitsha Drive, Nyanga - on Monday night.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi said a 19-year-old man had been declared dead, while the others - aged between 17 and 20 - were rushed to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds.

"The circumstances and the motive for the attack form part of ongoing investigations. The suspects are unknown and yet to be arrested," he added.
