The DA in KwaZulu-Natal says there will be no coalition government in the province with or without its support or approval.
It's Saturday afternoon at the Electoral Commission of SA's (IEC) results operation centre at the Durban International Convention Centre, and DA provincial chairperson Dean McPherson is on the phone, pacing up and down at the back of the brightly lit venue.
Walking towards a small group of journalists who had been waiting to speak to him, he says: "I am not telling you who I was speaking to."
McPherson had clearly figured out that everyone wanted to know with whom the DA would try to form a coalition in KwaZulu-Natal following the uMkhonto weSizwe Party's election victory.
