Elvis '2Bob' Mhlongo, 64, one of South Africa's most wanted alleged rhino poaching syndicate bosses, has been arrested.
Mhlongo and an alleged accomplice, Bonginkosi Mvuba, 51, were arrested on Thursday by members of the SAPS Vryheid Crime Prevention Unit and a private security company after a high-speed chase.
According to a member of Pro-5 Security in Vryheid, information was received about a white Haval sedan believed to be loaded with rhino horns and firearms that were possibly used earlier in the killing of a rhino at the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi game reserve.
