A fire in the Overstrand has been largely contained after three days of firefighting.

A fire that threatened both Pringle Bay and Betty's Bay over the past three days has finally been contained. However, a fire in the nearby Buffeljags is still burning out of control, the Overstand Local Municipality has said.
Overstrand Municipal Manager Dean O'Neill said the Hangklip fire had also been contained and there were no active fire lines as of Thursday morning.
O'Neill estimated that around 800 hectares had been burnt by the fire.
