Police Minister Bheki Cele is expected to attend the funeral service of murdered Gugulethu Community Police Forum (CPF) member Lulama Dinginto on Saturday.

The police said they have a lead as to who shot the popular community safety volunteer and offered a R50 000 reward for information to hasten the arrest.

"Guffy" as the deputy CPF chairperson was known, was murdered in her home on 10 December in NY110.

The police are looking to question Lungile Anthony Madolo, 35, also known as "Fire", about the shooting.

Nyanga CPF chairperson Dumisani Qwebe described Dinginto as a dedicated servant of her community.

"She was dedicated, communicated well and was a very outspoken person who loved serving her community with dignity and respect.

"Her death is painful, and it hurts me so much because we worked really well in trying to keep our community safe," Qwebe added.

"Those criminals that did this to our Guffy must pay for what they did."

Cele said in a statement:

She may have been small in stature but her voice against crime was loud and her actions against criminality were clear.

"At all times she was unapologetic in her firm stance against criminality and her untimely death is a loss to the [SA Police Service] and the community of Gugulethu.

"Ours as the police is not to cry but to hunt down her killers and bring them to justice."
