Kidnappings for ransom are on the rise in South Africa, specifically in Gauteng and the Nelson Mandela Bay metro in the Eastern Cape – and business owners seem to be the primary targets, experts say.

On Wednesday, another Nelson Mandela Bay family was shattered when a young mother, the wife of a well-known businessman, was abducted in the driveway of her Kariega home, only a few metres from her front door.
