Zane Kilian said he lost his house, his car, his wife and his freedom when he was arrested for the murder of Anti-Gang Unit detective Charl Kinnear.
But he is determined not to lose his son too and wants to get bail so that he can go home and look after him.
"I have lost my house, cars, business, my wife," said Kilian in the Western Cape High Court on Wednesday.
