IFP provincial chairperson Thami Ntuli has been elected as KwaZulu-Natal premier.

Ntuli defeated Phathisizwe Chiliza, the MK Party candidate and the Zulu nation's deputy prime minister.

Ntuli held 41 votes to Chiliza's 39.
