It was not a case of mistaken identity when family members of Dinesh Moodley witnessed him commanding his uncle to shoot Avinash Manjanu following a fight at a house party in Lenasia South in 2017.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) dismissed an appeal by Moodley and Ugresen Perumal against their 2019 conviction for murder by the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg.
At the crux of their appeal bid was whether the State proved the identity of the assailants who shot and killed Manjanu beyond a reasonable doubt, mainly because the State witnesses knew the accused.
