They once shared a goal - to hold the ANC-EFF coalition in the eThekwini metro to account - but now the DA and the eThekwini Ratepayers' Protest Movement (ERPM) are butting heads.

Feeling that the movement has crossed into the political arena, the DA has distanced itself from it. The party believes that there's heavy influence from Action SA and it has also taken issue with a meeting that involved the EFF. 

This is according to sources who are privy to the differences between the party and the movement.
