Following the murder of 5-year-old Ditebogo Junior Phalane by hijackers who were targeting his father's vehicle, the Phalane family have disclosed that they lost their child while still recovering from the kidnapping of another family member three weeks earlier.

The boy was shot dead in Soshanguve, in the north of Gauteng, on Friday night.
