A cyclist has been killed and two others injured in an accident involving a bus on Chapman’s Peak Drive in Hout Bay on Saturday morning.
According to Western Cape police spokesperson Captain Frederick van Wyk, the accident occurred at 10:05, claiming the life of the cyclist.
“A 56-year-old male was airlifted by helicopter to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, and another male sustained minor injuries,” he said, adding that the circumstances surrounding the accident were still under investigation.

A case of culpable homicide has been registered.
The road was closed to traffic following the accident and has since been reopened.
