The DA's Cape Agulhas mayor Paul Swart has been removed from office following a vote of no confidence amid allegations of misconduct.
Swart was voted out by secret ballot during a council meeting on Friday.
The municipal manager Eben Phillips confirmed that out of 10 councillors present during the secret ballot, six voted in favour of the motion, and four against.
