The DA is gearing up to head to court over the water crisis in the City of Johannesburg, DA federal council chairperson Helen Zille, who is also the DA’s Johannesburg mayoral candidate, announced at a press briefing on Wednesday.

It will seek an order holding the municipality and Johannesburg Water to account, and ensuring that they fulfil their constitutional duty to provide clean water.

Zille said the DA’s lawyers were looking into the matter and combing through documents.

“They have told us that we have a clear case to go to court,” she added.
