The Bank of Lisbon building on the day of the fire.
Five years after the devastating Bank of Lisbon fire, which left three firefighters dead, a report into the blaze found that a heater along with flammable materials may have caused the deadly fire.
Making matters worse is the fact that firefighting equipment in the building was dysfunctional, which hampered firefighting efforts.
Firefighters Simphiwe Moropane, 28, Mduduzi Ndlovu, 40, and Khathutshelo Muedi, 37, died while battling the blaze on 5 September 2018.
