The City of Tshwane believes that an act of sabotage may be behind a prolonged water outage in Rethabiseng, near Bronkhorstspruit, this week.
The City said it had received information that there was "a deliberate act of sabotage in Rethabiseng aimed at denying the residents their human right of access to water".
According to the City, a valve on a pipe in Rethabiseng was opened, resulting in water "gushing out" into a veld and cutting supply to the township. The neighbouring community of Ekangala was also affected.
