Residents in several Cape Flats areas are fed up with the City of Cape Town's "lack of urgency" to fix street lights - in some cases, for weeks on end - leaving their neighbourhoods in darkness and vulnerable to crime.

News24 spoke to residents in Macassar, Mitchells Plain and Hanover Park.

But the City says vandalism is to blame.
