A Durban father has been sentenced to two life sentences for raping and firing a shot at his daughter.

The Durban Regional Court on Friday sentenced a father to two life sentences for the rape and attempted murder of his 17-year-old daughter.
The man, 49, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his daughter, raped her twice in August 2022 after forcing her to sleep in his bed.
KwaZulu-Natal National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson-Kara said the 17-year-old lived with her father in Sydenham following her mother's death.
