An 18-year-old girl was allegedly beaten to death by her 25-year-old boyfriend, who is also the father of her two-year-old child, after she was apparently first whipped and throttled.

Matric pupil Zanele Khathi was declared dead last Thursday, a day after she was allegedly attacked at her home in KwaDumisa, KwaZulu-Natal.

It was only when her mother arrived home and was told that Zanele had not been to school that she rushed to her daughter and found her beaten, before she died while waiting for an ambulance.
