It has been more than eight months since an SA National Defence Force (SANDF) soldier disappeared from the SA Army Infantry School in Oudtshoorn, the Western Cape.

Isak Thompson, 50, was dropped off at the army base on Sunday, 16 July, by his brother, Ricardo, a day before he was set to start a 10-week training course.

Two days later, the SANDF reported Thompson missing. An R4 rifle, which was last seen in Thompson's possession, was also missing.
