Enver Motala's appointment as joint-liquidator for SA Machado, is facing a court challenge from another liquidator.
A deputy master, who appointed disgraced liquidator Enver Motala in apparent violation of policies and procedures, advocate Andries Ramorulana, has been given five days to explain to his bosses why he shouldn't be suspended.
The justice department has acted within days of News24 revealing that Ramorulana had appointed Motala, who was removed from the list of liquidators a decade ago for lying under oath, among other reasons, as joint liquidator on several entities in the insolvent estate of businessman, Mario Rocha.
News24 has seen a letter, dated 5 October 2023, signed by the acting master in Pretoria, Rufus Ramonetha.
