A South African delegation on Thursday told the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that, in the course of six days, things had so deteriorated in Gaza that the court had no choice but to order Israel out of the entire territory.
That, said South Africa, was the only way to halt an ongoing genocide.
On the same day, Israel promised to escalate its attack on Rafah, the assault on which had triggered South Africa's application and seen the ICJ grant it a hearing.
