News24 | Facebook Marketplace robbery: Randfontein men attacked, held hostage, threatened for 'apartheid sins'

10 months ago 8

Armed men told Tinus Greyling and his friend, Hermanus Oosthuizen, they would pay for the apartheid sins of their forefathers as their bank accounts were bled dry.

The two men from Randfontein on the West Rand made a narrow escape after being held hostage, assaulted and guns placed in their mouths on the night of 1 September in a Facebook Marketplace robbery.

The dramatic attack played out in Winterveld, Pretoria, in a series of events that mirrored the murder of Pretoria Rugby Club's former chairperson, Jaco Basson, on 12 November.
