Mobility MEC Ricardo Mackenzie out on busy roads with law enforcement agencies in the Western Cape.
"Fatigue is a silent killer," the national transport department has warned as it promises high traffic law enforcement visibility on all major roads as thousands of holidaymakers make their way to their festive season destinations.
Department spokesperson Collen Msibi said officials would be out in full force on various "hazardous roads".
"Our focus is mainly on long-distance routes as road users travel to their holiday destinations. We therefore urge motorists to rest after every 200km or after every two hours.
