In a bid to reduce gang violence, drug abuse, and gangs recruiting children in Hanover Park in Cape Town, a group of young people in the area have rallied together under non-profit organisation (NPO) Youth ImpactSA.

They are promoting sports, educational talk programmes, professional ballroom and Latin dancing, acting and drama classes, and do talks on crime.

Tashreeq Fish, a volunteer at Youth ImpactSA, told News24 the organisation was established in 2021 by young people employed by the Western Cape Safety and Security Department to address safety concerns in the area.
