
A fire above Military Road in Bo-Kaap was fanned by strong winds, but was later contained and resulted in no injuries or damage to property, according to reports.
Strong winds fanned a fire above Military Road in the Bo-Kaap, City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Mark Bosch said on Friday afternoon.
The fire and rescue service said they received a call at 11:00.
Bosch said an incident command team was dispatched to manage the fire.
According to Bosch, the fire has been contained, but they will remain on the scene to ensure there are no flare-ups.
South African National Parks spokesperson, Babalwa Dlangamandla, said a fire above the Noon Gun area in Signal Hill was reported, but contained by SANParks fire department crews, who were on site conducting mop-up operations.

Four fire engines, one water tanker, and two of the fire and rescue service’s wildland firefighting teams were on scene in Bo-Kaap.
Bosch added: “Word from the incident commander is that no property is at risk, and no injuries have been reported.”
