Floyd Brink was appointed as Johannesburg city manager for the second time on Thursday.
According to the recommendations at the council, Brink will start his tenure on 1 November, “or as soon as possible thereafter”.
Brink was removed as city manager in December last year by the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg after it was found that his original appointment was irregular.
News24 understands that after a lengthy interview process, Brink was found to have scored above the other candidates. The recommendation to council to hire him, however, has been withdrawn twice.
This is a developing story.
