A Cape Town
law enforcement officer had a lucky break over the weekend when a bullet headed
for his hip became lodged in his belt, allowing him to escape serious injury.
The officer was on patrol in Nyanga on Sunday night when he and his colleagues instructed the driver of a bronze Toyota Avanza to pull off the road.
The driver initially refused to stop, but when he realised he wasn't able to get away, he pulled over and three occupants jumped out and opened fire on the officers.
