A former Springboks rugby coach turned politician was released on bail after appearing in the Malmesbury Magistrate's Court on Friday on charges of attempted sexual assault and crimen injuria, Western Cape police have confirmed.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie said the 66-year-old man's case was postponed to 15 May for further investigation.
The accused cannot be named until he has pleaded, in accordance with the Sexual Offenses Act.
