The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has forecast damaging coastal winds between Port Alfred and KwaDukuza, resulting in disruptions and difficulty in navigation at sea, while light showers and thundershowers are expected in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, the North West and Free State. Light rain can be expected in KZN, the Eastern Cape and the Western Cape.

Impact-based warnings

Yellow level 1 warning: Damaging coastal winds resulting in difficulty in navigation at sea, localised disruption of small harbours and/or ports for a short period of time and small vessels at risk of taking on water and capsizing in a locality are expected between Port Edward and KwaDukuza in the morning.

In the SAWS’s colour-coded weather warning system, yellow indicates a moderate risk of impact that requires caution and awareness, while orange indicates that a higher-risk impact is expected, requiring increased attention and preparation.
