The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has warned of severe thunderstorms, heavy rain, excessive lightning and hail in at least five provinces.

Impact-based warnings

Yellow Level 2 warning: Severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours leading to localised flooding of roads, bridges and low-lying areas, as well as damaging winds, excessive lightning and hail, resulting in damage to infrastructure and settlements, are expected over parts of Gauteng and southern Mpumalanga, the central and eastern parts of the North West, the extreme south-western parts in Limpopo, as well as the western parts of KwaZulu-Natal.
