KwaZulu-Natal police arrested a 40-year-old man, on the run for more than two-and-a-half years.

A 40-year-old man, who had been on the run for more than two-and-a-half years, was arrested in Durban after he allegedly killed two women - one in South Africa and another in Eswatini.

According to police, the man fled the country in February 2023.

He had allegedly murdered the mother of his children in Volksrust, Mpumalanga.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said that, while hiding in Eswatini, the man reportedly killed another woman with whom he was in a romantic relationship.

He said police had since handed the man over to their counterparts in Mpumalanga, where he was expected to face a murder charge.

Netshiunda commended the swift action of the detectives who managed to track and apprehend the fugitive.
