George Hospital staff were overjoyed when 33-year-old tiler Gabriel Guambe was rescued on Saturday from the rubble of a building that collapsed in George on Monday afternoon. He had managed to hold on for 118 hours.
Western Cape Health MEC Nomafrench Mbombo, who travelled with Guambe in an ambulance, recalled the moments immediately after he was rescued.
