The sound of a loud horn pierced the silence on Victoria Street in George on Saturday mid-morning, a signal that had everyone's heart suddenly racing.
It was a moment filled with uncertainty, but then, amid the debris and dust, a rescue team member raised his hand and gave a thumbs-up, shouting: "Alive!"
Claps and loud cheers erupted from the other rescue workers.
