Dr Bantu Noqekwa was murdered at his surgery.
Nothukela Noqekwa - a Gqeberha woman accused of hiring hitmen to murder her ex-husband, Dr Bantu Noqekwa - is the primary caregiver of the former couple's youngest child and needs to be granted bail, the Eastern Cape High Court heard on Monday.
Noqekwa approached the High Court last Thursday to launch the appeal after she was refused bail by the New Brighton Magistrate's Court in July.
After her lawyer and the State gathered in the judge's chambers of the High Court to start the appeal process, the case was postponed to Monday because the parties had to verify certain information pertaining to the case before the hearing could continue.
