The City of Cape Town has moved to institute disciplinary proceedings against the executive director for Urban Waste Management after being pinpointed in a forensic report as the cause of the metro's waste collection collapse.
News24 understands that the decision was made during a special council meeting that was held virtually on Monday morning.
The meeting was confidential and not open to the public. The council adopted a report in which the recommendations to institute disciplinary proceedings against executive director Luzuko Mdunyelwa were decided.
