Department of Home Affairs clients who tried to access its services were left in limbo after the system experienced a technical glitch.

Members of the public trying to access home affairs services were left in the lurch this week due to a "technical glitch".
A spokesperson for the home affairs department, Siya Qoza, said the glitch on the State Information Technology Agency's (SITA) mainframe affected the National Population Register.
The glitch meant that clients were unable to access services relating to the issuing or processing of documents, like IDs and passports, at several affected branches.
