A paramedic who was beaten up and had her hand injured during an assault, allegedly by an ANC Johannesburg leader, has been unable to return to work due to the injuries she suffered.

Shalati Mushwana told News24 this week she was undergoing physiotherapy for the damage to her hand.

"My job requires me to use both hands as I have to lift many things during my daily duties. So, I'm currently seeing a physiotherapist who is helping me with the recovery," she said.
