An inquest into the death of renowned anti-apartheid activist and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Chief Albert Luthuli will be reopened.

This was announced by Justice and Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola, who said he was acting on a National Prosecuting Authority recommendation.

Luthuli died on 21 July 1967.
