  • Kelvin Momo has apologised for missing his scheduled performance at Sun City Resort’s Outside event on Saturday.
  • The apology came after the resort labelled his conduct “poor” and “unprofessional.”
  • This was reportedly not the first time he missed performances, after a publication reported that he missed at least three others over one weekend in May.

Prominent DJ and producer Kelvin Momo (born Thato Ledwaba) has publicly apologised after failing to appear for his highly anticipated performance at Sun City Resort’s Outside event on Saturday. The event, held on the Gary Player Golf Course, had Momo billed as a headline act alongside Mandisi Dyantyis.

Apologising on social media, the Amalanga hitmaker said: “I would like to sincerely apologise to Sun City Resort, the event organisers, and most importantly, all the fans and guests for my absence and the disappointment caused by my non-attendance at the Outside Event scheduled for 16 August 2025.”

Momo said he regretted any inconvenience, frustration or confusion caused by his no-show, attributing it to “unforeseen circumstances and miscommunications.”

“I should have responded more promptly and transparently to all parties involved,” he continued. “I am working closely with my team to ensure that something like this does not happen again in the future.”

“I am truly grateful for your support and understanding, and I hope to make it up to you at a future event. Thank you once again to everyone who made arrangements to see me perform – I am sincerely sorry for letting you down.”

The apology followed criticism from Sun City Resort, which lambasted Momo on social media. In a statement shared on social media, the Resort accused the DJ of failing to arrive despite being “contracted, booked, and paid for.”

“Neither Momo nor his management have responded to any of Sun City’s requests for an update. We, along with our partners, have exhausted every avenue possible to ensure that he performs,” the resort said.

“We sincerely apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience caused as a result of the unprofessional and poor conduct of the artist concerned, which is beyond our control. Thank you for your understanding and continued support,” the resort added,

While Momo might have eaten humble pie over his Sun City non-appearance at the weekend, he still faced criticism for allegedly failing to perform at several other events.

In May, Daily Sun reported that the DJ and producer failed to pitch for other performances at three venues.

Similarly, Momo also apologised on social media. On this occasion, his no-show was attributed to ill health.

“To our valued fans and patrons, we want to extend our sincerest apologies for missing our scheduled performances at Café 69, Piano Hub and Makubenjalo. Due to unforeseen health issues, our artist, Kelvin Mom, fell ill, forcing us to cancel these highly anticipated gigs,” read the apology quoted by the publication.

“We understand the excitement and anticipation surrounding these events and are deeply sorry for any disappointment this may have caused. The well-being of our team is important, and we had no choice but to prioritise Kelvin’s health and recovery.”

However, after this, Momo made it up to his supporters when he staged his much-loved Red Bull Symphonic event in June.
