Deputy president of the Patriotic Alliance, Kenny Kunene, was sworn in as the Johannesburg Transport MMC for the second time on Monday.
He resigned from the post in July after he was found at the home of murder-accused Katiso “KT” Molefe.
Since then, the transport post has been vacant as minority parties within the ANC, EFF, and PA coalition have fought over it.
Kunene was reinstated to the council last week after colleague Liam Jacobs warmed his seat, before PA leader Gayton McKenzie announced Jacobs as the party’s mayoral candidate in the City of Cape Town.
On Friday, Mayor Dada Morero sent a notice to the councillors announcing Kunene’s appointment for the Transport MMC position.
Kunene was officially sworn in on Monday morning.
