Missing reality TV contestant Mariana Kotze’s car has been found at a shopping centre in Mbombela after she was reported missing on Monday.

The 67-year-old, who appeared on Season 3 of kykNET’s reality cooking show Kokkedoor in 2019, is suspected to have been hijacked on her way to do some shopping in Komatipoort driving a silver Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.

According to Netwerk24, she had left her home in Marloth Park at 08:15 on Monday morning to do some shopping. CCTV footage then shows that her car was seen around 10:30 in Malelane and then at 10:45 at the Nkomazi toll gate.

Malelane is situated on the N4 heading towards Mbombela, which is in the opposite direction from where Kotze was planning to do her shopping.

On Wednesday morning, a member of the public informed the iSecure security company that her car had been spotted at Sonpark Centre in Mbombela near Nelspruit Primary School, the report said.

Jacaranda FM reports that Boland Kotze, her husband, had received a message from the hijackers demanding that he not block any of the couple’s bank accounts.

Mariana Kotze, a 67-year-old woman, went missing on Monday morning after an alleged car hijacking.

It appears that a bus ticket to OR Tambo International Airport was bought in Kotze’s name, which would have arrived on Monday at 18:00, but this has not been confirmed by the authorities.

As of Wednesday, Kotze has still not been found. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a light pink top and three-quarter denim jeans.

Authorities have urged the public to notify them should they have more information on 08600 10 111.
