Limpopo police are searching for a suspect who allegedly raped a 16-year-old schoolgirl while she was on her way to school in Ribungwani village on 3 March.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said the girl was walking alone on a secluded road when an armed man, wearing a black bulletproof vest, approached her.

"According to reports, the suspect dragged her into the bushes and raped her at gunpoint. He then took her cellphone, offered her money, and warned her not to disclose the incident to anyone," Mashaba stated. The incident was reported to the police, and a rape case has been opened.
Limpopo police commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe said children should be able to walk freely without fear of harm.
"Our investigation team is working tirelessly to ensure the suspect is identified and arrested. Community support is critical in achieving this," she said.
The police are urging anyone with information to contact Colonel Thomson Manganye at 082 319 9889, Crime Stop at 086 001 0111, or their nearest police station.
