Almost 590 shots rang out during the funeral of an alleged gang member in Nyanga, Cape Town last weekend causing mayhem among community members.
Popularly known by his surname, Magwala, the man died after being shot multiple times, allegedly by rival gang members who had been looking for him for months.
Nyanga Community Policing Forum chairperson, Dumisani Qwebe, said that Magwala had been on many rival gangs' hit lists for the crimes he had committed against other gangs and communities.
