Police arrested a man after he allegedly attacked and killed his 99-year-old neighbour.
A man appeared in the Eastern Cape's Ndlambe Magistrate's Court on Monday after he allegedly attacked and killed his 99-year-old neighbour.
He did this after earlier allegedly beating a visiting relative to death.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa said the two incidents happened separately in the Amathole district on Thursday.

Mawisa said the relative visited the man at his Ndlambe Village home, outside Peddie. The 55-year-old was then attacked by the man and beaten to death.
"Police were alerted to the murder of the 55-year-old man who is the cousin to the suspect," Mawisa said.
The attack on the 99-year-old woman happened shortly after the first murder.
"Police were alerted by the daughter of the deceased woman," said Mawisa.
Police responded to the scene and found the man hiding in the nearby bushes.
He was arrested and charged on two murder counts.
