A burst underground water pipe in Durban's central business district caused a massive sinkhole that resulted in the closure of some streets.
However, the City of eThekwini said that it will not affect the routes designated for the Comrades Marathon that will be run on Sunday.
eThekwini Municipality spokesperson Gugu Sisilana warned motorists and road users of a major sinkhole in the middle of the road at the intersection of Dr Yusuf Dadoo and Bertha Mkhize streets.
